Sits somewhere in between scotch and Scottish ale - lighty hazy rust color - nose of peat, butterscotch, earthy/leafy character - flavor is medium dry and lightly bitter, so more like a scottish ale in flavor - a bit of peat and charred malts - slight alcohol warmth - decent.

Tap @ brewery. Dark red brown, transparent appearance with a tiny, almost nonexistent head. Light caramel, toffee malty, earthy hoppy aroma. Mildly rich toffee, organic, bitter hoppy flavor with a weird celery, pepper veggie taste going on- not sure if this is an off taste or a derivative of the hops but it’s not desirable. Fuck, maybe they didn’t wash my glass well enough after serving someone a pepper beer in this glass. Anyways, the veggie thing along with a very mild maltiness turns me off to it. There must be some kind of cross contamination going on.
