On tap @ brewpub. Dark brown appearance with a creamy, brown head. Chocolate, nutty, caramel, turtle bar, spicy belgian nose. Dark chocolate, licorice, caramel, somewhat spicy, dark fruity flavor. Slightly boozy. Sweet, slightly syrupy, dessert finish.

Draft at the brewery - dark reddish brown - sticky lace - nose of toffee, caramel, raisin, date, peat, moderate oxidation and light phenols - flavor is initially a bit tart and lightly oxidized - moderate sweet chocolate and toffee - raisin and cherry - tail end is a bit spicy, with some earthy, fruit skin bitterness - slightly off bitterness (aspirin) in the finish, but otherwise decent - this was tapped as a part of their 40th anniversary celebration, so I think they have been sitting on this keg for a while - the amount of oxidation would seem to place this a a few years old.
