Courtesy of cbkschubert. It pours mahogany with weak tan head. The aroma is a dash of roasted malts, lots of earthy malts and some spicy anise. The taste has rich dark roasted malts mixing with earthy clumpy chocolate infused wet clumps and in the background are mild wood, vanilla and boozy notes. The barrel notes are well off in the background and allow the yummy beer flavors to be heard. Tasty brew. Btw, holy crap! Santee has a brewery now?!

Thanks to Armin for sharing - dark brown, cola-looking beer - semi-sweet and chocolatey up front - dries out through the middle and gets some spicy alcohol and oak - very understated whiskey earthiness and peat - ends with dough and hazelnut - not bad.

On tap at Oakquinox. Pours with a deep brown body and a small tan head that slowly fades. Aromas of cocoa, cola, licorice and light oak. Flavors are quite estery, cocoa, cola and a bit of vanilla. Thin and a bit watery. Light bubbles.
