330ml bottle. Clear, dark amber colour with small to average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, minimally grey-ish, white head. Floral-leafy, minimally piney, hoppy and minimally earthy, malty aroma, hints of petals, viola or the like. Taste is floral, minimally leafy and piney hoppy, slightly earthy and minimally caramel malty basis with very low, residual sweetness, hints of petals, mild bitterness. Oily texture, smooth and soft, slightly greasy palate, fine, soft carbonation. Very British, classic, clean - maybe ordinary for the islander, rather authentic and proper for the continental customer - nice.

Bottle picked up at Tennents. It pours clear copper with a small frothy white head. The aroma is woody, earthy, chewy, leather, brown bread, cardboard, caramel, toffee and fruit cake. The taste is dry, toothy, bitter, woody, leathery, cardboard, grassy, grainy, old rope, boozy kick, tannin, waxy citrus and peppery spice with a drying, leathery finish. Average body and carbonation. Pretty drying and leathery. Chewy and tannic.
