Toasted Lager was originally named for the “toasted” characteristic of our original direct-fire brick kettle. Our World Beer Cup gold medal winning flagship brew is brewed with a blend of six specialty malts for a flavor as rich and unique as the town it’s from. Toasted Lager’s balanced flavor of malt and hops makes for easy drinking and our special proprietary lager yeast produces an exceptional, long-lasting smooth finish.

Bottle. Milky biscuit malt and light hay aroma. Golden yellow with large light tan head. Mildly sweet milk, toffee malt, and moderately bitter hay/quinine flavor. Light body. Not particularly pleasant.

Bottle: Clear amber with an off-white head. Caramel, toasted grain aroma. Taste is caramel malt, toasted grain. Pretty simple....fairly solid body and maltiness. Decent.

Draft at City Tap House DC. Pale amber pour, lots of lacing, kind of creamy. Malty aroma and taste. Not much here, but really nice feel.

0.33l bottle @ Distilled, NYC. This is a clear deep golden one, a tall lasting almost fluffy white lacing head on the top. Smells like your average pilsner really. A hint of nuts and lots of metallic lager aroma. Tastes quite decent actually. It's darker in the taste than I had imagined. Soft oily in the mouth and average on the carbonation. Almost a little hint of licorice, nuts and mushroom. Like it more than I like to admit. 19.06.2015

Gezapft bei Shake Shack am Flughafen JFK. Dunkles Bernstein, etwas Schaum. Aroma Karamell, Weintraube, Hefe, Zitrone. Geschmack voll, süsslich, moderat fruchtig, von "toasted" habe ich nichts geschmeckt.

Bottle pour into nonic pint glass. Appearance is clear, light copper with nice sparkle, finger-width beige fizzy head with poor retention and no lacing. Aroma is toast, light caramel, biscuit. Taste is toast, light caramel, cracker with light bitter ending. Palate is light bodied with thick texture, lively carbonation and mix of sweet and bitter finish. Overall, the toasted quality is nice and the hop presence adds bitterness rather than any flavor. It’s fine but nothing noteworthy.
