Sample at Hay Merchant. Orange-amber pour with a thin off-white head that dissipates quickly to an outer ring. Spotty lacing on the glass. The aroma is malty with a bit of hops in the background. Light-bodied with flavors of toasted malt, caramel and grassy hops. The finish is sweet with a grainy malt aftertaste. Slightly above average overall.

On tap at Queen Vic. Pours a clear copper with large creamy off white head leaving good sticky lacing along the glass. The aroma is a bready malt and raisin. Thin mouthfeel with a light malt with lingering light bitter finish. Easy to drink a good Märzen from Live Oak.

On tap. Pours a clear copper. Small white head with it. Aroma is a touch soapy (possibly from the line). Caramel and toast. Taste is a bit hoppy for a marzen, but the bitterness doesn’t linger. Sweet toasted caramel and malt notes with it. Thin, bubbly mouth. Pretty good Marzen.

Draught at Cricket’s Grill, Waco
Hazy amber color. Nothing special, but as an Oktoberfest is good, the flavor especially, with a good combination of malt and sweet caramel, and the necessary bitterness. The final is well balanced and quite long.
