Can. Pours hazy amber with a foamy light beige head. Caramel malt, stone fruits, toffee, hoppy finish. Better than the average rating.

The 16.9 oz bottle I have of Tornado Shark states on the label that it has 37 IBUs and an abv of 8.1%. No date of bottling is indicated, but I did make the purchase at The Cellar in Odessa a couple of months ago. I make the pour into a shaker glass to see a rather hazy, reddish brown liquid, steady carbonation and a persistent taupe brown head. There is a scent of biscuit, grain and a touch of caramel. A drink finally, not bad. I get the impression of a charged amber ale. Heavy with the malt, some hoppiness, grain again, a little bit of toffee sweetness and funk. I am pleasantly surprised by it all.

On tap at the Hay Merchant. An almost clear one, dark reddish brown in color and with a small beige head leaving lacings. The aroma has alcohol, dried fruits, caramel and toast. All nice, but far from as complex as the lovely flavor. Dried fruits, raisins and figs moslty, brown sugar, roasted malts, some alcohol and a little hoppy touch. Full-bodied, lightly warming and with a pleasant carbonation level. Lasting finish with roasted malts, caramel and dried fruits. Although a bit boring initially, sure it’s a fine brew. 140515

On tap at Flying Saucer. Pours a dark brown with medium beige head. The aroma is sugary malt, toffee, and fruit. Medium mouthfeel with dry malt and raisin flavor with lingering bitter finish.
