On tap at Flying Saucer. Pours a dark brown with medium creamy tan head that lasts awhile leaving sticky lacing along the glass. The aroma is roasted malt cocoa and pine. Medium mouthfeel with a light roastiness and smooth hop flavor. Easy to drink a good black IPA from Southern Star.

Old rating from Houston Flying SaucerPours a dark brown with a grayish brown head that lasts throughout the beer and laces nicely. Aroma has a good amount of roast, toast and a bit of coffee backed by some pine. Flavor starts with nice pine but is balanced by roasted malts and coffee in the finish.
