Sample at Hay Merchant in Houston. Pours a deep brown-black color with a medium light beige head that diminishes slowly. Strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt and hops. Medium body with flavors of piney hops, bready malt and a bit of chocolate. The finish is sweet malt up front with a short hoppy aftertaste. Decent overall.

On tap at Hay Merchant. Pours a black and ruby hue with small beige head leaving sticky lacing. The aroma is roasted malt and pine. Medium mouthfeel with a dry hop and raisin malt with lingering dry finish. A very good black IPA from Deep Ellum.
