On tap at Marshall, pours black with a small beige head. Aroma brings out soft bourbon barrels and medium roast, with some chaotic booziness in back. Flavour is dominated by the whiskey barrels, with plenty of bourbon, boozey hotness and a rather thin malt backbone given the size of this. Needs some more body and more refinement. As is, it's alright.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Dancing Camel Florentin. Thanks David Cohen. 2015 bottle. 8.3%. Brown. Aroma of chocolate, nuts, some vanilla, and bourbon. Sweet flavor with malt, chocolate, caramel, nuts, vanilla, a boozy edge and a bitter finish. Medium to full-bodied. Not too Stout-y.

22oz bomber pours with a dark mahogany colored body that supports a tan head of foam. The aroma offers up some malt sweetened dark roasted malts, marshmallow, mild toffee notes and then smooth bourbon booziness. The taste starts pretty smooth with some malts and then quickly getting into dark roasted malts and to a lesser degree burnt malts and chocolate malts. To midway firm bourbon notes surface as well as a modest booziness. Pretty nice with a pleasing balance between beer and barrel notes.

Bottle thanks to matt. Pours a very dark brown with paperthin beige head. The aroma is roast, oak, smoke, and chocolate. Medium mouthfeel with light roast and chocolate with lingering bitterness. Odd.

Firkin at Tapwerks. Pours black with a grayish brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has some sweet dark grains with roasted malts and a rubbery whiskey note. Flavor is quite whiskey heavy with a bit of roasted malts and dark grains.
