Bottle from the Brewery online shop. Pours oily black with a thin brown head. Aromas of dark chocolate, vanilla, wood, tar, molasses. Taste is rich, dark chocolate, a hint of whiskey, leather and burnt raisins. Lovely stuff, well judged.

Bottle (Bermondsey Bottle Shop): Literally black, small stable ruby-beige head; solid sweet-bitter aroma of molasses, dried fruits, vanilla and wood and chocolate with an ashy touch; solid sweet-bitter flavour, silky MF, full bodied as expected; solid port-vinous and toasty finish with a slight alcohol-burn in the aftertaste. Wow, what a fine winter-warmer...

Flaske 330ml fra Vinmonopolet Tromsø - Langnes. Drukket i heimen 29 Okt 17. Svart. Middels høyt luftig brunt skum. Litt lacing. Topp aroma av sjokolade & røstet malt. Silkemyk munnfølelse. Smaken torv, sjokolade & lakris. Innholdsrik. Behagelig tørr ettersmak som sitter i lenge. Gjennomgående torvpreg. Alkoholen skinner litt gjennom etter hvert.

Pitch black, motor-oil-like pour with a very short-lived espresso head. Notes of peat, roasted malts, dark chocolate - and I mean the 90% cocoa kind, whiskey, macerated sour cherries, light sherry, ash, oak. Full body, low carbonation, roasty bitter, lightly alcoholic finish. Pretty nice, the harsh smokey characteristic of the whiskey barrel nicely complemented by the dark chocolate.

0,33l bottle at home. Bottled 13.01.2017. BB 13.01.2022. black color, very small dark coffee-colored head. smells of whiskey, some peat, light sweetness, molasses, chocolate, bit nutty, some vanilla. very nice smell. full body, light carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes of peat, whisky, vanilla, some sweetness, chocolate, bit earthy, nutty, . finishes lightly sweet with a light alcohol warmth and notes of vanilla, peat and molasses. I am usually not a big fan of whisky beers because the barrel (peat) comes through too much, but this one has a lovely balance. very good to drink.
