West Coast Style IPA
If you want the ultimate, you’ve got to be willing to pay the ultimate price. But are you crazy enough? Show those guys that are inching their way on the freeways in their metal coffins that the human spirit is still alive. The sea swallows the Sun. And who knows if it rises again. Vaya con dios.

Think José should know not to park the bus with how shit we've been defensively all season, but that's football. Crisp, piney, smooth. Old skool IPA beer. Thanks Moon Dawg!

12 oz. My can reads 65 IBUs. A little over a month old. Aroma is cantaloupe, grapefruit peel, biscuity, pineapple, strawberry, pine, earth. Pours hazy golden with lots of tiny sediment floating around underneath a half finger cap of cream-white foam with decent retention. Taste is light to moderately bitter with a solid candy sweetness alongside; finishes pretty dry. Perfect creamy mouthfeel. Not bad, but it kind of reminds me of a mass market IPA like Voodoo Ranger or something. I was expecting more.

12 ounce can. Pours a medium hazy orange hue with a large white head. A big funky fruity nose. Big deep fruit, mango, pungent flavors, light dusty malt base. Very smooth. Solid.

Another 3$ ubiquitous IPA in a can. Aroma of mild volatile hop perfume. Rocky head. Big bitter biting BS cutting co2, good co2 for a strong IPA. Its just that this is terribly on style; one large and in charge kind of brew. If you like craft IPA, put this on your bucket list. Terrible lasting long time buds soaking up bitter hops effects clear to the end. My palate is wrecked. Not impressed.

Can shared at Lucky Bamboo share. Pours a hazy gold with a finger of foam that lingers. Lots of pineapple, passion fruit and dank citrus aromas on the palate. Easy drinking on the palate, crushable with a creamy, juicy texture. Smooth finish with lingering dankness and white grapefruit pith.

Got in a BIF from KMitch. 12 ounce can into tulip glass, no can dating. Pours very hazy/cloudy deep golden/amber/light orange color with a 2 finger fairly dense and rocky off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Dense foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, berries, citrus peel/rind, peppercorn, pine, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, light honey, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and moderate bready malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, berries, citrus peel/rind, peppercorn, pine, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, light honey, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, berries, citrus peel/rind, peppercorn, pine, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, light honey, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and moderate bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and no lingering hop astringency after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness and carbonation. Medium-high carbonation and medium body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy/sticky, fairly crisp, and lightly resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Minimal warming alcohol for 6.8%. Overall this is a very nice IPA. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and moderate bready malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, and easy to drink with the mellowly bitter/drying finish, not aggressive. Nice Mosaic, Citra, Centennial, Columbus profile; but this is obviously not very fresh. Juicy and fairly vibrant/dank/earthy hops; nice pale/wheat malt backbone, with minimal residual sweetness from crisp dryness. A very enjoyable offering, and well made style example. Giving it the benefit of the doubt on overall score. Would like to revisit a fresh can if given the opportunity.

Toranomon summer tasting, thanks Walter for this. Hazy yellow pour with some white foam on top. Spices and herbal esters in the nose, a bits saisony. Dank still, I guess that being really fresh helps with that. Tastes fresh and crushable, herbal hoppy profile. Characterful, thats what this beer is. Resiny and dry bitter finish.

Can pour into shaker pint glass from Andover Liquors. Appearance is hazy, pale yellow with greenish tinge, nice sparkle, 2-finger width foamy, off-white head with decent retention and spotty lacing. Aroma is tropical fruit, citrus and musky, dank herbs. Taste is musky herb, grapefruit, late pine. Palate is light bodied with thin, smooth texture, average carbonation with some pleasant alcohol warmth and dank, resiny, herbal finish. Overall, some nice complexity, though the taste doesn't quite live up to the aroma. And, the recipe appears to have changed from above--can says Mosaic, Centennial, Citra and Columbus hops, 65 IBU.
