The name "Grey Lady" comes from the nickname for the often-foggy island for which it is brewed. This hazy, Belgian-style Wit emits a complex, earthy nose with sophisticated notes. The sift, malty mid-palate has wicked good zesty hints but gives way to a delectably dry finish. Quenching!

The Sampler, Brooklyn 12oz ($3.50): Yeah, I overpaid for this mediocre beer. In any case, light yellow pour with white head. Aroma is coriander. Taste is pretty much ginger ale with more coriander in it. I never had a beer that tastes so perfectly like ginger ale. Would be a great intro beer for some people I suppose.

A ¾ pint bottle from the bottle bar (Biers Sans Frontiers) at GBBF 13, shared with Finn H. Next to clear golden coloured body. Faint, but lasting, white head. Perfumed floral nose, as well as hints of herbal hops. Blended flavours of candid and tart citrus added by a touch of ginger. Bittersweet end, mid-dry. Easy to drink. Different and okay to drink (Tromsø, 30.10.2013).

On tap @ Mudville 9. A crystal clear bright golden one with a small quickly islandy white top. The nose is really, kinda tea like in a way with hints of spices, nutmeg and lots of lavender! . Different. Yeah, lots of spices in the taste also. Nutmeg mainly, some peppery allspice and lots of tea leaves. Soft oily a bit thin perhaps on the mouthfeel and the carbonation is soft and prickling. A little bit of citrus, lots of lavender and more spices in the finish. Actually quite original this thing. 20.06.2013

12oz can. Unfiltered bright yellow-tan. Steady, creamy, white head. Quite spicy, zesty coriander, sage,,who knows what. Has a nice mouthfeel, easy light to medium body. Id probably really enjoy this one if it weren’t spiced...as it is it doesn’t really do it for me despite the pleasant body, mouthfeel.

Bottle as shown. Pours a cloudy yellow with small frothy white head. The aroma is strong citrus and wheat. Thin mouthfeel with sweet malt and citrus flavor. Easy to drink, a good wit.

Bottle courtesy of AirForceHops. Lemon-orange, wheat malt, and light coriander aroma. Hazy straw gold with a moderate white head. Follows the nose with lemon-orange, coriander, and light wheat flavor. Medium creamy body, moderate carbonation. Great fresh crisp flavor. I found the coriander very impressive - just like the seed I collect from my herb garden.

Bottle @ home. Moderately cloudy, yellow-orange appearance with a small white head. Fairly spicy, floral, yeasty, mild citrusy, bready wheat malty nose. Spicy, a little tangy, floral and earthy, lemon, light wheat malty flavor. Almost like when you inhale air freshener after spraying a room. I’m not feeling it.

Hazy blonde coloured body with a super-fast dying white head, just like soda. Aroma of corn, wheat, coriander seed, spice and a touch of flowers. Light-bodied; Assertive coriander seed and corn flavour at first with a touch of light spices and wheat. Aftertaste shows a bit of spices, a little wheat and a nice orange and lemon note. Overall, an okay beer with some good flavours, but not enough complexity and depth to be really good. Nice to sample in the hot weather, for sure. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Total Wine in Alexandria, Virginia on 20-July-2011 sampled in Upstate New York in New Paltz, New York on 23-July-2011.
