Our twist on the traditional robust American Porter, Shake Chocolate Porter is dark black in color with rich, sweet aromatics and flavors of dark chocolate, coffee and caramel. This unique brew blends five different grains, including Chocolate Wheat, that along with cacao nibs create a devilishly delicious chocolate finish with a velvety mouthfeel.

Enjoyed on tap at Paddy Longs in Chicago, IL just before eating a burger with bacon, and feeling fat. This is a quintessential dessert beer, heavy emphasis on chocolate and lactose with a frothy consistency, very much shake like. Pretty good one, will hopefully have again.

Bottle shared at chriso’s post GBBF minidig 16/08/2014 . Aroma is hazelnut, praline, peanut butter, and chocolate. Although a bit of staling on the nose as well. Clear caramel brown coloured pour with a fleeting off white head. Flavour is composed of choc, cocoa powder, light veg, praline and powdery chocolate. Palate is low carbonation, sticky, semi sweet

Bottle shared at chriso’s Post-GBBF 2014 Tasting - London. Pours clear brown with a bubbly, off-white head. Cheap chocolate on the nose, soft roast. Light sweet flavor with dark bread, artificial chocolate, burnt sugars. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Sugary dark malts to finish with more fake cocoa character. Not awesome.

Bottled at SBWF. Dark brown, coarse head. Chocolate sauce dominates from nose to finish. Sweet with medium, body and clean mouthfeel. Metallic finish. To use as ice cream topping, or to serve to hipsters that don’t like beer but want to pose with a cool bottle anyway. Souther Tier-ish.

Almost opaque dark brown beer, small pale tan head. Palate is light and semi dry. Light minerally crispness. Good cocoa chocolate, touch of cocoa bitterness. Mildly tangy fruit. Semi dry finish. A choccy cocoa beer, feels slightly gimmicky.

Bottle courtesy of rlgk. Pours dark brown with a rather small frothy beige head that leaves a small trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is sweet with sweet bread, chocolate milk, hay and soil. Taste is sweet and slightly bitter with bread, chocolate milk, hay, soil, vanilla and hints of coffee. Mouthfeel is soft, watery and light bodied. Finish is tiny sweet and bitter with chocolate milk, vanilla, soil and hay. Too heavy on the chocolate milk. --- Beer merged from original tick of Shake Chocolate Porter on 18 Oct 2014 at 13:35 - Score: 6
