Our twist on the traditional robust American Porter, Shake Chocolate Porter is dark black in color with rich, sweet aromatics and flavors of dark chocolate, coffee and caramel. This unique brew blends five different grains, including Chocolate Wheat, that along with cacao nibs create a devilishly delicious chocolate finish with a velvety mouthfeel.

Draught @ Albion. Dark brown with small creamy beige head, chocolate aroma, low carbonation, sweetish chocolate shake taste, thin body, abrupt finish. Feels watery despite the relatively higher alcohol content. Still not bad.

Deep dark brown coloured body with a one centimetre tan head. Aroma of ridiculous amounts of chocolate, roasted malt, raisins, figs and somehow, even more chocolate - smells just like a milk chocolate bar. Medium-bodied; Strong chocolate flavour with hints of coffee, earth, raisins and roasted malt, but the milk and chocolate flavours dominate, in a very good way. Aftertaste shows a good balance of bitter malt and earth and the pleasant sweetness from chocolate - great and well done. Overall, a great beer for the style with more chocolate flavour than Iβve experienced in a non (Chapeau Chocolate) gimmicky beer - a great example of a sweet porter, for sure. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from New Beer Distributors in New York, New York on 08-November-2014 for US$2,25 sampled at home in Washington at the start of a cold weather spree here at home on 23-January-2015.

Sample at Kurtkeller 019: Choco-tastic 02 on 12/27/2014. The beer pours dark brown with ruby highlights, and a medium creamy beige head that recedes gradually. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roast malt, chocolate and coffee. Light to medium body with flavors of sweet chocolate, malt and mild coffee. The finish is sweet with a chocolatey aftertaste. As advertised, pretty good overall.
