One of those beers you are surprised you have had not had before. Hazy amber beer, small cream colour head. Smooth palate, feels a little thin for the ABV and mildly dry, reasonable fine combination. Fairly rich malts, little cream and some caramel, not that sweet! Some mild dried fruit, well integrated with some modest brandy and a touch of alcohol spice. Touch of esters on the very finish. A decent blonde barley wine, my second of the evening, and that must be a record!

Dark brown colour, small beige head. Aroma has toffee, malts and maybe underlying tiny tartness. Full-bodied. Belgian yeast - dates, raisins, toffee in the flavour. Sweetish dessert beer. Nice old school Abt-style beer.

Draft. An amber beer with thin beige head. The aroma has notes of smoke, caramel, and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel, alcohol, malt, and bourbon, leading to a dry alcoholic finish.

27 February 2019. At Kantien, Ghent. Shared with the lovely Anke! Pours hazy amber with a lasting, very thin, frothy, off-white head. Aroma of sweet tobacco, hashish almost, wet straw, damp earth, wort, sweaty fried onion, ripe pear & red apple, cake, soggy bread, overripe plum. Taste is medium fruity sweet, red apple, pear & banana wrapped into a cake with a dash of caramel, supported by bread & yeast notes, almost wort-like though; light herbal bitterness for balance, offering tea leaves, tobacco, wet straw, floral touch. Dryish, herbal hoppy finish, lots of ripe fruits coming through, straw, caramel, and warming liqueur alcohol. Medium body, oily-syrupy texture, soft carbonation. Unusual for its style, I'd call it a Wild Barley Wine.

Kurzer säuerlicher Beginn. Alkoholisch, rund würzig, süßlich. Erhöhte Karbonisierung, trockener Hintergrund. Okay. 10/10/9/10//10

Immediate gushing, in the end huge & dense yellow-cream head over unclear amber-orange beer with golden lining. Wild yeast (Morpheus stamp), partly fermented winegrapes, vinous, fusely, old wine barriques. Caramel, bitterness partly roasted partly hops. Then more wine, wood, fortified wine, fruity background sweetness. Again winegrapes and even raisins. Feels medium bodied at least, very slick, bit buttery feel, creamy head. Really a pity about the gushing, showing poorly on a overall quite good beer.
