Hazy brown with off white head - Fruity and herbal pine hop aroma - Malt body to support a good hop profile that has fruity tones with good herbal bitterness - The piney herbal bitterness goes into the finish - This was good

Draught @ Bakgården Både &, Kristiansand
Pours dark reddish brown with a beige head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, citrus and orange. Taste is medium sweet and medium bitter with a long caramel, citrus, orange, malty and piney finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

On tap at the Alibi Room, pours a cloudy dark amber orange with a small beige head. Aroma is odd, with a mix of winter spices, resinous hops and toasted biscuity malt. Flavour is similarly odd, with winter spices, lots of caramel malt and subdued resinous hops. This is very disharmonious, with all sorts of clashing notes. Moreover, it doesn't strike me as particularly fresh. Not a fan of this one.

On tap at Både&. A hazy dark amber to brown beer with a small off-white head. The aroma is mostly on the malty side, bread, toffee and some nuts, with pine cones and citrus zest. It’s quite dry on the palate, with a pleasant carbonation and a good bitterness. Bready malts, pine cones and resins, and some nuts. Lasting bitter and malty finish. A tad too malty, but it’s sure a fine brew. 170310

Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver
Dark amber color, cloudy, with creamy head. Although it has some orange qualities, overall this comes across as a bready, stale IPA, with a very strong earthy character; resiny and orangey final.
I’d like a Winter Warmer, I’d like an IPA, the two together don’t play very well; this of this as an earthy hoppy Amber Ale.

22 oz bottle poured and split. Much thanks to Patrick for the share! Pours a dark copper brown with a rocky foam head. A spicy malt aroma. Very aromatic. Flavor is a hop heavy constant, with a more dry, dusty finish. Slight roast, with a much stronger feel than the 5.8% bill. Bold flavor throughout. A very nice representation of what a winter IPA should be like. Very nicely done.

Bomber from Cap Tap. Pours darkly ruddy with a tan head. Aroma is fruity, but there’s a toasty malt note. Med body or nearly. Flavor starts outrageously fruity, but is quickly replaced by a mix of roasty malt and, dare I say, coffee!? Well maybe that’s just the malt playing with my brain. Toasty malt = coffee? Anyway, it is quite different in the malty finish. Still it’s bitter and I think reasonably dry. It drinks very nicely, and is very flavorful.
