Sampled from the tap at Lama Dog. Pours black with a brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has lots of rye whiskey and sweet dark grains with a string dark roast backbone. Flavor combines sweet dark grains and rye whiskey with a bit of toffee supporting.

Tap at Cap Hop. Pours dark brown (orange glints) with a tan head. Aroma is rye/coffee. Very different. Med+ body. Flavor is dark treacle, chocolate, rye spice, hint of coffee, and Iβm thinking oak/wood notes. Not very dry; not very bitter; very pleasing tho.

Bottle thanks to the Hale. Pours a cloudy brown with medium beige head leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is cocoa, roast, wood, brown sugar. Medium body, similar flavors to nose, licorice, ash, tobacco, lingering dry finish, good.

[2/12/15] Bottle sample at joetβs place. Thanks Joe! Black with a tan head. Aroma of roast, Belgian yeast, licorice, dark fruits and coffee. Roasty flavor with rye, yeast, dark fruits, and a bitter burnt finish, slightly harsh, with salty licorice. Medium to full-bodied.
