Last year we sent ol’ Kev the Brewer back to the kettles to brew up his “sticke” (secret) German-style Altbier recipe. When the sweet, malty, noble-hopped liquid was ready, we laid it to rest in some fine bourbon oak barrels to age and absorb and mingle with all the big boozy flavors within.
The time has finally arrived to imbibe this old-world treat. Remember kids, Hops are Hip but Malts are Magical! Prost!

On tap at DRBT 7. Pours a cloudy amber with medium beige head that lasts. The aroma is licorice, wood, dark fruit, bourbon. Medium body, wood, vanilla, licorice, roast, raisin, caramel, boozy finish, very nice.

Sample at Denver Rare Beer Tasting VII on 09/25/2015. Dark brownish-amber color with a medium foamy light beige head that diminishes gradually to a dense film. Small patches of lacing. Aroma of bourbon, malt and fruit. Medium body with flavors of bourbon, caramel malt and ripe fruit. The finish is boozy with a bourbon and malt aftertaste. Pretty good overall.
