Medium brown with orange and a nice wavy head. Somewhat sweet aroma of caramel, chocolate malt; fruits with raisins. Rich malt flavor with alcohol and hops to balance. Slightly burnt. Finish is bitter and dry, and long-lasting. Nice balance overall, with lots of elements to balance the sweet, rich malt.

Funky clear brown coloured body with a nice large tan head - tons of small bubbles coming from the bottom too. Aroma of sweet pit fruits, caramel, toffee, malt and a bit of nuts and light spices. Medium-bodied; Strong assertive malts in the taste with a lot of nuts, some nutmeg and a bit of cloves. Aftertaste shows a lot of malt - more nuts and a bit of light sweetness. Overall, a good belgie - a bit one sized on the deep and roasty/malty side of things, but still - a good beer. I sampled this 33 cL bottle purchased from Beer Mania in Bruxelles, Belgium on 17-November-2008, sampled at home in Washington on 25-January-2009.
