Bottle thanks to Chow. Pours a hazy gold with medium white head that lasts. The aroma is strong funk, oak, citrus. Medium body, tart grape, lemon zest, oak, funk, enjoyed this.

(375ml bottle from Bottlecraft Little Italy, San Diego) Pours an almost clear gold with a small white head that fades to a thin ring without lace. Aroma is extremely vinous, white wine, herbal old hops, bright citrus, floral notes, a touch of menthol, subtle hay and earthy funk, fairly substantial notes of oak lingering in the back. On the tongue, again quite vinous and herbal, white wine grapes, light grapefruit, underripe pit fruit, a mix of young oak and old barnboard, moderate cheesy funky old hop notes and isovaleric acid, grassy, lightly tart overall with a bone dry finish. Medium bodied, a touch slick, with effervescent prickly carbonation. This is a fantastic saison, the fermentation, blending and old hops all recall a saison-lambic blend. Very complex and highly drinkable, an excellent job.
