Greatly honoured feelings towards Trey who was kind enough to make it possible for me to have this ! Pours black , good grey head Smell is straight black albert , but more complex and less heavy . Good carbo Taste is black albert , chocolate , roasted maltyness , bitterness . Bit more of fruity feel , guess that must be blackcurrants ? No idea what those are , to be honoust . Like a more complex , dangerously drinkable black albert . Port and oak are rather hidden , but contribute to a magnificent taste . Great one , yet again !

Aroma is moderately roast with some light chocolate notes. Moderate fruit character, mostly berry with some cherry, plum and prune. Light port barrel notes. Pours black with a big mocha head that has really nice retention. High retention and moderate legs. Flavor has a moderately strong roast character with some lighter chocolate notes. Moderate fruit notes that add a hint of tartness - mostly a berry flavor. Light bitterness and some alcohol heat. Light port notes with a lighter barrel character. Mouthfeel is medium full bodied with medium carbonation. Medium low astringency and medium light alcohol warmth. Overall a good beer, but it’s not my favorite use of port barrels in a stout. I think the roast is too strong for the more delicate and slightly tart fruit character.
