A 33 cl bottle obtained on a family holiday through Europe. Using the favorite Trappistes Rochefort glass tonight, I pull the cap and pour. Dark caramel brown with little noticeable head. The scent is ripe fruit, candy and alcohol. I take a drink, toffee immediately, plums, raisins, malt, a touch of dough, oaky to a small degree and a boozy background and finish. The feel is surprisingly full for so little carbonation. Interesting beer, likeable, not great.

Bottle at home. Dark brown color, no head. Aroma and flavor are malts, quite sweet and sugary, brown candy sugar, some oak maybe but mainly sweet sweet sweet.

33cl Fles. BB juli 2019. Donkerbruin, beige kraag. Aroma van eik, donker fruit, chocolade, gebrande mout. Smaak is al wat geoxideerd, donker fruit, oude chocolade, iets waterig. Redelijk. Medium body.

8 July 2020. Random Wednesday Tasting; cheers to Anke & Tim! Hazy dark brown, quickly thinning, frothy, tan head. Aroma of pear syrup, date paste, wet oak, rum-soaked raisin, red (some green) apple, calvados, plum, dark toffee. Taste has sweet toffee, date & raisin, ripe plum & pear giving off a phenolic whiff, some bitter clove with a yeasty-estery red apple accent. Malty finish, soft peppery hops, lots of dried fruits, wet wood in the end & heating brandy & calvados alcohol. Medium body, oily-syrupy texture, soft carbonation. Typical as a Belgian Quad, not very refined as a 'BA' but I can appreciate this kind of beer.
