12oz (thx, Brian S. for the bottle and Tom B. for keeping it for all this time while the border has been shut down due to the f@cking COVID-19!) @ Matt's. Appearance: brown with a tan head. Aroma: oxidation, rum, some slight smoke and peat, dark fruits. Taste: along the same lines, quite a lot of raisins, moderately sweet. Overall: pretty good.

Bottled Nov. 2017. 12 oz. bottle, pours black with a tiny tan head. Nose has plenty of rum-like oxidation upfront, followed by raisins, booze, and a hint of vanilla. Flavour has a wonderful rum barrel quality, some sherry-like oxidation, raisins, and a touch of vanilla. The alcohol is worked in remarkably well, and the sweetness is kept in check by the base beer and the barrels. The oxidation -- I assume from the aging -- imparts a nice elegance to it. Excellent.

Bottle thanks to Chow. Pours a dark brown with small beige head that diminishes quickly. The aroma is dark fruit, rum, cocoa, oak. Slick body, rasisin, licorice, cocoa, boozy finish, enjoyed this.
