Meerts is our take on the style of beer traditionally derived from the second runnings of Lambic. Our modern interpretation begins with Pilsner malt, raw wheat, and Saaz hops, which is brewed using a turbid mash and long boil, and fermented in French oak foeders with our wild yeast. This version was then refermented on peaches for two months prior to bottle conditioning.

A very elegant, well structured beer. Peach and tart citrus smile funk on the nose, but not as strong as I’d expected/prefer. Pours a very clean pale straw with some orange highlights

Peachy as hell, bit of an acidic finish but still super easy drinking of peach fuzz.

750ml bottle thanks to my bro. It pours hazy bright golden with a small, frothy white head. The aroma is zingy, bright, juicy, sour peach, nectarine and apricot, sweet popcorn, digestive biscuit, white wine, sherbet, refreshers and cracker. The taste is crisp, dry, tart, puckering, kick of acidity which lingers, very sour, sour peach candy, nectarine, apricot, lemon peel, fizzy cola bottles, hay, cracker, minerality and refreshers with a dry, puckering finish. Medium body and moderate, foamy carbonation.

75 cl bottle vintage 2020 @ Kultainen Apina Aroma has popcorn, peaches and mild earthy notes. Flavour has sour cream, green apples. Does not feel like gueuze; more like berliner weisse. Also, where are the peaches?

On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear yellow with a white head that dissipates nearly completely. Aroma has a combination of peach and earthy tart fruits with straw and hay backing. Flavor has a nice tart peach with light sour fruits and earthy grains supporting.

Tap. Pours lightly hazy yellow, small white head, some lacing. Aroma is light, peach skins, a bit under ripe, earthy, perfume, basement. Flavors is very light tart, light touch of funk, nice nice fruit accents. Light body. Lacks the funky complexity of the cherry, with the result of a drink almost soda like; pleasant enough but not really world class.
