The Chimay Triple, which is the brewery’s most recent creation, is labelled “Cinq Cents” in 75 cl bottles. It was introduced in 1986 on the occasion of five hundred years of the principality of Chimay. It is the youngest of the Chimay beers.

Aus der Flasche in Brüssel. Klarer goldener Bernstein, fingerbreiter fester Schaum, eine Kohlensäuresäule in der Mitte des Glases. Aroma: Hopfen, Karamell, Nuss. Geschmack: Nuss, Karamell, Malz. Leicht sprudelnder und cremiger Antrunk.

Barwa złota, klarowne, piana biała, dość obfita, nawet z lekka koronkuje. W aromacie słodowe, estrowe, białe wino, jabłko, lekki chmiel. W smaku półwytrawne, są estry winogronowe, jabłko, gruszka, słodowość. Goryczka średniowysoka, nieco zalega, wysycenie nieco za niskie, alkohol wyczuwalny, ciało w normie, mało fenolowości i przyprawowości. Solidne, ale trochę za mało na Tripla jednak.

Pours orange from the bottle with a foamy, towering white head that lingers. Aroma is yeasty with a bit of spice and wet rag. Taste is mildly bitter, full of clove and nutmeg. Quite dry .. almost too dry. A touch of sugar in the aftertaste.. Carbonation is prickly and stable. Overall, quite nice if no longer exceptional, but my least favorite of the 3 Chimay brews.

0,33 l bottle. Pours hazy golden yellow with big frothy white head. Aroma of malt, yeast, fruity (apricot), floral honey and spicy hop notes. Taste is medium sweet and medium bitter. Body is medium, texture creamy and carbonation on the lively side. Finish is long, herbal bitterness takes time to develop and lasts for a while. Very complex and drinkable.

Bottle at home on 21st January 2018, from Bruxelles Midi. Pours hazy amber with thick off-white foam. Yeasty, pungent aroma. Spicy and fruity in-mouth, with some bitterness in the finish. Engaging texture and full body.

0.33 l bottle shared with Jolly Rogers. Murky dark golden, medium off-white head. Good retention. Aroma is yeast, spices, zest, cookie dough, gingerbread, honey. Metallic, alcohol present. Kinda thin. Sweet. Moderate finish.
