Coconut waves is the same recipe as the base beer for the Black Stave Project BA Beers. It's a complex malt bill fermented in stainless with an American yeast strain, then conditioned on a ridiculous amount of toasted sweet coconut. The result is a viscous stout that tastes like a mounds bar. This is the first installation of the Black Stave Project and was brewed and canned with Ellison Brewing and Spirits in East Lansing Michigan.

16oz (thx, Robert B.!). Appearance: very dark brown with a dark beige head. Aroma: moderately sweet, some fruity character, loads of coconut, milk chocolate, smells like a bounty bar. Taste: along the same lines, very silky, moderately to high sweetness, tons of coconut, some roasted malt, and fruitiness. Overall: liquid Bounty bar, probably one of most coconutiest beers I've ever had.

16oz can thanks to steve pours out thick black topped with a small tan head. Nose is big sweet chocolate coconut and some heat. Taste is more of the nice sweet chocolate coconut rich and thick.

Can thanks to Russell. Pours black with small tan head that lasts. The aroma is milk chocolate, coconut, and roast. Slick body, dark chocolate, coconut, boozy, nice sweetness, very good.
