Bottle. A slightly hazy, golden-orange beer with a diminishing, beige head. Fruity, sugary aroma with some caramel and tea. Quite pleasing. Sweet and fruity caramel flavor with some hoppy bitterness and a dusty touch. Medium to full body. Pleasant hoppy fruityness and some sweetness in the finish. Rather dry feeling towards the end, considering the sweetness. A pleasant, quaffable beer, but probably not worth the rather high price. Rating: 6-4-6-4-13-3.3. 071215
Bottle, 375ml corked. 2005 vintage. An unclear, quite pale body is topped by a creamy, off-white head of low height. Lots of cellar on the nose, with a pleasant touch of tropical fruits. Generic fruityness and white sugar too. The flavor goes in the same direction, although less cellary, bringing the fruityness up front. Very smooth on the palate, medium body fullness. A really nice beer, pity it’s gone. 110311

Draught at Ledig Erf in Utrecht. Not much aroma. Hazy orange colour. Bready flavour, actually a little watery. Hint of aluminium. Not as bad as it sounds, but not exciting either.

Golden amber with a thick off white head, and huge chunk of floaties. Nice coriander aroma, sweet malt and light corkyness. In mouth, a decent sweet malt with light coriander, orange peels, and light hops. Overall, a nice beer. Bought at Joanette’s Spring 2006. Cork was dated 2004.

(bottle, vintage 2003) Hazy amber coloured hue with big yeast floaties and a short and diminishing frothy white head. Toastmalty nose with caramel, also yeasty and slightly sour. Moderately sweet flavour, medium body and carbonation. Slightly sweet toastmalty taste with a light fruity and sour touch; dry and slightly woody, sour-fruity finish (14.03.06).

37.5cl bottle from Noel Cuveliers. Amber colour with thick lasting beige head. Yeasty earthy aroma and also a bit dusty. Some banana and lemon. Odd beer. I have had it before and it wasn’t as good as I remembered. Some earthy citrus on end. Bit disappointed.

Bottle: Hazy, cloudy, amber coloured, thin, quickly diminishing off-white head; a tinge of toasted malt in the aroma; vinous, fruity too, some wood in the background; dry, only a bit sweetish, sourish, fruity flavour; short, fruity, a bit lingering finish. Not bad, not overwhelming, kind of a diluted Goudenband......................

Light leathery and corked aroma. Amber, fluffy tanned lacing head. Peach, light wooden, a hint citric acidity. Fairly lightbodied and watery. Pretty much a non-event.
