Bottled. Clear reddish amber. Yeaty flowery nose. Medium sweet. Mild and lightly almondy. WIld yeast adds light lemony acidity and some esters. Short salty finish. Complex and unusual.

Bottle. Bread aroma primarily with hints of apple and tannins. Amber with smaller head. Light malt, bread and tannic flavor - rather subtle. Not a lot of body for a Belgian ale - nicely drinkable but not spectacular.

(Bottle 33 cl) Amber coloured with a nice, huge head. Some fruity, spicy notes - almost tripel-like, if it wasn’t for the rather low alcohol. Some iron in the aftertaste. Decent but far from exceptional. 041196

Half bottle, corked
Hazy amber color; frothy head. Light malty aroma, a bit sour and corky. Too much carbonation; very dry taste, a bit astringent, corky; quite watery and disgusting.

An amber beer with no head. The aroma is sour - wildfermentation? with hints of oranges and metal. The flavor is malty, slightly sour, and acidic with notes of apricot and hops. The end is dry. An OK beer without being good.

Very nice head when pourred into glass, almost creamy, did not disapear and left line in the glass; to me this is a very impressive start. Very refreshing taste with a fruity aftertaste (Leifman knows how to add fruity taste to their beer). I'm not sure this a pale ale per say but it is still a good beer.

Thick white head, going down lacey. Beer orange-amber. Vaguely caramel nose, sweet. Impression of coriandre leaf. Sweet, malty taste, cheesy as with stale hops. Vague bitterness, not hoppy. Bit empty mouthfeel. Long sticky sweet aftertaste, alternating with (stale) spicey bitterness, like some average pilseners. What's this to do with Liefmans? Gino, please change this.

Sweet malt beer. This beer also remembers me that Jan Van Gent is as a matter of fact a water-bird.

Spicy aroma. Decent appearance, certainly not splendid. As you take a sip, the taste disappears very quickly and leaves a dry finish, with no more taste left.
