On tap at the brewery. Pours black with small beige head that lasts. The aroma is strong cocoa, smoke, roast, wood. Medium body, dark chocolate, oak, licorice, dry finish, very good.

Blue $2 can. Mine says 6% on the label, not 5.6%. Very pretty foamy choco moose head pour, same eye as a Guinness. Mild coffee chocolate malt nose. Taste is not over the top but it does have a burnt forward flavor. Somewhat like the taste of old aged damp burned campfire wood. In the middle, it starts to become a little more aggressive, more bitter; I think its the coffee coming thru. Big coffee finish, really pounces on you in the end. Long bitter lingering burnt coffee taste remaining well after the session. Started off OK, then went downhill after that but overall not bad for a coffee beer.

Rocky dark tan head left a frothy cover on a very dark brown still body. Strong coffee, demerara & dark chocolate aroma. Medium bodied, very sharp & prickly over the tongue with short dry clean back. Espresso, dark chocolate, lactose, berry & malt tastes with slightly citrus finish.

At a tasting, small stable bubbly creamy mocha head, opaque black color, aromatic roasted coffee aroma, , earthy notes, greenish hints and a whiff of dark malt, flavor of coffee and chocolate pralines with some cakiness in the back, mellow bitterness, hint of sweetness, medium bodied. Nice and enjoyable.

On nitro at Giant Eagle Grandview. The beer is a brown-black color with a medium creamy tan head that recedes gradually to a film. Patches of lacing on the glass. The aroma consists of roasted coffee, malt and chocolate. Light to medium body with flavors of chocolate malt, espresso and a touch of hops. The finish is creamy with a mocha aftertaste. Pretty good overall.
