The Washington-based brewery started with a crisp and clean mash bill, then added a carefully considered dose of Saaz hops for a flavor that’s at once classic and distinct. You’ll get hints of earth and cut grass over nuances of honey-drizzled biscuit. A subtle note of peppery spice on the finish adds complexity that’s worth exploring all day.

Aromas are bread, cereal, malt and a bit of hop. Flavors are similar to nose, bittersweet with good carbonation and body. Finish is slightly bitter. Good example of the style.

On tap at Ponderosa, pours a clear pale blonde with a small white head. Aroma has some skunky, grassy notes, and straw. Flavour is clean, with a grassy hop bite, crisp biscuity malt, and some straw. Clean and reasonably punchy for the style. Decent.

16 ounce can. Brassy gold pour. Frothy beige head. Light, biscuity malt aroma hints at herbal hops. Flavor is grainy malt and spicy herbal hops. A hint of citrus, as well. Clean and crisp with good balance. Dry, spicy hop finish.

Can from Tavour. Pours gold with a foamy white head. Aroma of Noble hops with some pale malt support. Near med body. Flavor is pretty much the aroma. Spicy/grassy/tangy. Much better than the macros! Pretty nice flavor. Fairly dry and appropriately bitter.

Small pour. Appearance: clear pale golden with a white head. Aroma: regular European lager hops, crispy. Taste: along the same lines, nice flowery hops here. Overall: clean, refreshing, nice.

Can thanks to Shaun. Pours a cloudy gold with small white head that lasts. The aroma is dough and citrus. Slick body, toasted grain, citrus, dry finish, very good.

Can. Pours a clear straw yellow with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has sweet grains and cookie with a nice straw and a hint of light grass. Flavor has sweet grains and a nice straw note with a light grain and a hint of grass backing.

Clear gold body with thin white head. Light grass aroma. Clean simple malt taste. Finish like a pilsner because of the Saaz hops.
