A strong ale, brewed with guarana, Californian poppy, kola nut and Scottish heather honey. A conspiracy of trans-continental ingredients infused with some devastatingly BrewDog imaginative thinking.

Bottle from Beer Planet web shop. Dark golden color with medium white head. Aroma of honey, pine, bitter hops, citrus, caramel. Taste, grapefruit, lemon, oranges, honey, pines, floral hops. Long bitter finish. Nice.

5oz pour at Pizzeria Paradiso in Alexandria VA. Poured a slightly hazy amber color with a off-white small head. Aroma is malty, with notes of spice. Spices overpower any hoppy notes, but that’s okay. Nutty notes, and a touch of poppy-seed bread notes. Strange. Interesting. A BrewDog gimmicky beer, but the alcohol content is palpable, not disgustingly overpowering.

Draft at PP. Murky orange-brown. Thin off-white head. Malty, orange spice tones. Mellow and malty, sort of an herbal Bierre de Garde. Balanced, but certainly not a World Class offering. OK.

Bottle: Amber to deep-amber coloured, smaller yellowish foamy layer, moderate to solid honeyish-caramelly nose with a distinctive herbal-hoppy background; moderate to solid sweet-bitter flavour, medium to full bodied; drier lingering herbal and hopy finish, followed by a slight brandy-like alcohol-burn in the aftertaste. Wow, much better than expected....

330ml bottle from Cracked Kettle

Batch 247, BBE 02-09-11 - Pours dark red with a small foamy head. Aroma has notes of malts, spices, honey and slightly hops. Taste is quite malty and spicy with notes of honey and fruity hops. Long, warming, slightly bitter finish. Okay, quite unique tasting ale.

Deep orange colour. Smells smokey, sweet, honey and green twigs. Tastes watery, hoppy, honey and some mint notes. Very thin body, bit too watery.

Bottle @ home, shared with DutchDrebus. Pretty thick, light beige head. Clear dark orange color. Smell on the one hand fresh but on the other hand also grassy and mint, which could also be fresh sometimes but not really in this beer, at least in my opinion. Taste alcohol and mint. Weird! Don’t like it very much. Very good brewery, but this is just not my beer I guess.

Bottle from Brewdog Webstore. Pours red amber with a off white head. Aroma of kola, malt and a hint of honney. Spicy taste, bit belgian abbey-style, bit ginger on a medium body. Odd with some similarities with the Brewdog weddingbeer but this one is alot more drinkable.

33 cl bottle, BBE 02-09-11
Aroma has a lot of herbs and some ash too. Flavor has almost everything possible: all kind spices and herbs, some ash. Bitter finish. I wonder where the honey is? Weird, but not bad.
