Racer X® is an uncommon Double India Pale Ale which puts a California twist on English brewing traditions by adding an assertive hop aroma and bitterness that compliments the firm malt backbone. Like its little brother Racer 5, Racer X® is balance in a bottle.

Tap at The Jeffrey on a surprisingly unbusy St Patricks day. Pours clear orange with nice puffy head. Nose is floral and citrus hops. Tastes of piney hops, grapefruit, oranges, honey, pretty malty, and crackers. Slight sticky palate and nice lingering finish.

Bottle at Craig’s. Clear gold pour, thin white head. Massive pine, resin and grapefruit aromas. Taste has too much caramel sweetness though. Bit drier would’ve been ace.

Refrigerated brown bomber 2013 vintage, bottled on October 21, 2013, poured into a glass. Pours hazy orange with small off-white head. Aroma is malt backbone, medium body, low/medium carbonation, and little big bubble lacing. Taste is hop bitterness, some pine resin, and balancing malt backbone. I have had better for the style.
