First Press is the first anniversary blend and was inspired by a single oak barrel of double-barrel-aged stout (apple brandy - 1792). This special barrel, #94, stood out from the rest and became the anchor of this blend. The aroma is a boisterous interplay of apple brandy and bourbon. First Press is brimming with notes of chocolate-covered espresso beans and peanut-covered caramel apples dipped in milk chocolate. Cheers to the first year, a year that I will cherish and remember for the rest of mine.
Blend:
Axelrod (barrel #004) aged 16 months in Willett barrels
Adderley (barrel #042) aged 13 months in Apple Brandy barrels

LCI. Apple Brandy can be an odd one, but blending beautifully here. Smooth, rich thick with some fruity esters balancing the chocolate and oakiness

Bottle thanks to Rainer. Pours black with small beige head that lasts. The aroma is strong honey, roast, cocoa, wood, bourbon. Slick body, honey, roast, bourbon, oak, nice sweetness, enjoyed this.
