Sample 50 ml. Hazy yellow-green, white head. dry white wine nose, white bread, some yeast. Tastes dry and winey, mild grassy bitterness, firm body. Not your conventional pils, but a good one.

At horecabeurs 2015. Pours clear blonde, no real head. Smell is unintense. some lager yeast. Taste is sharp, bitter, intense yeast. Rather complex -esp for the style- and very intense on the malty side.

pale yellow colour, minimal white head; aroma of grains and some sourish-caardboard notes; taste is dominated by maltyness with some souris-bready notes and very minimal hoppy bitterness; it would have been much better, if Silly had not tried to brew a pilsener instead of belgian ale

Clear pale yellow beer, aery white head, little stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: lots of malts, hay, grains, bit sweet. MF: ok carbon, light body. Taste: little bitter, hay, grains, malty, cow fodder, weird, bit metallic, sourish. Aftertaste: bitter, metallic, hay, bit lemony, almonds, bit oxidized really.

Organic version of Silly Pils, with stable, snow white head and clear golden blond colour. Aroma of pure pale malts, some grassy hops, some iron. Soft, vaguely sweetish grainy taste, flowery, aromatic but faint hops in the finish. Perhaps a bit softer and more mellow than the regular version but still a bland standard lager - though I guess being the only organic ’pils’ in Belgium is a kind of accomplishment as such.

250ml bottle at home. Pours clear pale yellow, no head. Light yeast aroma, lemon, corn. Taste is more of the same. Ok, bit thin.

Bottle at home in London. Pours perfectly clear yellow, highly effervescent, with a large, perfectly white foam head. Sugary malt aroma, some cereal, corn, grains. Light sweet flavor with doughy malts, white sugar, some dusty straw. Light bodied with mouth-filling, explosive carbonation. Sweet, simple finish with some pale cereal malts, mild hay bitterness, some white sugar, dough, suggestions of lemon merengue. It’s not a great pilsener, but I guess it’s alright.

Medium to good white head, fed by lively carbonated metallic-golden beer. Pilsner/pale malt,slightly vegetable nose, bit grassy. Fresh-smelling. Ever so slightlly toasted malts, and sweet pale malts. Slight impression of caramel. Cucumber flavour in the back, shade of bitterness. Light body, gristslickness; bit sticky, but still refreshing. Average Pilsner. Which is a good result for something wearing a ’bio’ label.

25cl bottle @ Delhaize across from the Silly brewery. Au départ j’étais un peu réticent sur cette pils bio, et cela en sachant que la Silly Pils est loin d’être au top des mes préférées de cette brasserie. La nouvelle bio est une très belle surprise sur tous les points. Une belle couleur dorée le tout couvert d’une belle mousse blanche. Après avoir bu ce dernier wknd la bio Green Buzz de chez Millevertus, je commence à voir toute la différence de saveurs et de goût que l’usage du bio donne à la bière. Le nez donne de suite le profile d’une bière au palais sec, le tout est accompagné d’un nez de céréales, houblon herbacé, le tout pour cet aspect très frais de grains et malt pils. En bouche, une pils de très bonne facture qui est légère et rafraichissante. Palais est sec, fleuri/légèrement fruité par le houblon qui laisse une petite note citronnée. On y note ce malt orge carapils qui laisse échapper un profile sec/de grains concassés. Un régal, simple mais de qualité.
