Glass at the Weekend of Spontaneous Fermentation. Cloudy dull orange with a few bubbles. Aroma of citrus, tart light fruits, light funk, grain and dusty notes. Flavour is light sweet and light to light moderate sour. Light to light medium bodied with very soft carbonation.

23/94/2016 sample glass shared with the BE RB crew @ZBF2016. Hazy orange, no head and carbo. Light fruity, hint of sweetness. Taste is a bit grainy, ligh sour. Very refreshing but a bit thin.

Sample @ Zythos’16, courtesy of and shared with the RB Belgian crew. Orangé, pas de col. Arôme offre des notes vertes, léger céréale, fruité orangé, pas trop de barrique, léger funk sans être trop agressif et retenant assez du caractère de moût. Palais est plat, notes de grains, cuire, sec, léger funk, effervescence moyenne-basse, raisin vert.

Trübes goldgelbes Bier, kein Schaum. Geruch mild fruchtig, Gewürze, getreidig malzig. Geschmack leicht säuerlich, getreidig malzig.

From tap as Jonge Lambiek Boon Van Nieuwe Foeder. Pours hazy yellow. Smooth fruity, wineous and citrusy. Crisp fruity and light hoppy. Smooth fruity. Lingering fruity.

Tap at Zythos 2016 as "Nieuwe Foeder" - at this time, aliased to the regular Jonge Lambik. Hazy orange color with no head. Aroma is wheat, sweet dough. Taste is wheat, sweet dough, slight hint of apples. Flat. Interesting, it showcases the wheat nature of Lambics.

Note: wow, for the last 5 years I've been meticulously trying to sample every straight lambic in Belgium. It took me 5 years before finally encountering the Boon jonge lambik at one of the many festivals I've attended over the years. Finally! :D
Cloudy orange to beige beer, no head. Aroma: bit cheesy, fruity, sweet impression, little smelly. MF: no carbon, medium body. Taste: bit metallic, fruity, lovely stuff, some green banana. Aftertaste: soft acidity, bit metallic, cheesy touch, pretty bitter, kiwi.

Cask at centrumhotel . Pours unclear orange . Smell is funky apples . Taste is softsour , some funk . Apples . Too watery for my taste . Slight bitter touch . Nice

Frank Boon’s unblended lambic, an example of the style which has achieved near perfect balance, tart, funky and complex but equally elegant, fruity and flowery, acid but not too ’neig’. Boon clearly knows what he is doing - but anyone familiar with the lambic tradition already knows that for a long time... Very refreshing.
