Bottle at DRBT. Pours a cloudy amber with small beige head. The aroma is dark fruit, oak, peat, licorice. Slick body, similar flavors to nose, boozy, dry finish, very good.

355ml bottle. (10.1% ABV) 2015 vintage, from 2015 Craft Beer Advent Calendar. Pours a slightly hazy ruby with a thin, short lived, off-white head. Sweet aroma of overripe fruit, caramel malt, yeast and mild spice. Sweet flavour of dark, overripe fruit, caramel malt, brown sugar, spice and yeast with a dry, boozy finish. Medium body with an oily texture and soft carbonation. Better than expected. A pleasant surprise.

750 ml bottle into tulip glass, 2012 vintage bottling. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy deep reddish brown color with a 1-2 finger dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of plum, pear, apple, fig, raisin, caramel, toast, brown sugar, light pepper, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good complexity and solid balance of fruity/earthy yeast and dark/bready malt notes; with solid strength. A bit too fruity in the aromas and lacking much malt depth and complexity. Taste of big raisin, plum, fig, date, apricot, caramel, toffee, toast, brown sugar, brown bread, light chocolate, light nuttiness, pepper, herbal, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Light earthy yeast spicy finish; with lingering notes of raisin, plum, fig, date, apricot, caramel, toast, toffee, brown sugar, brown bread, light chocolate/nuttiness, herbal, and yeast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice complexity and robustness of fruity/earthy yeast and dark/bready malt flavors; with a great malt/yeast balance and zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a very smooth, creamy, and lightly slick mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with only a small warming present after the finish. Overall this is a damn nice Belgian strong dark ale. All around great balance, robustness, and complexity of fruity/earthy yeast and dark/bready malt flavors; and very smooth to sip on for the big ABV. The aromas were a bit unbalanced, but the flavors were spot on with great complexity. A very enjoyable offering.

Some raisin and light florals but this doesn’t come together super well. High on the boozy side. Pours amber with OK head and lacing. Sweet finish. Bottle.

Bottle courtesy of Iphonephan, thank you! Clear amber brown color. Aroma of lightly burned caramel. Taste is herbal, spiced, malty, with some hops at the finish. Decent.

Pours rather unclear , dark amber . Smell is unintense, bit sweet, some caramel . Taste is sweet , dark fruits . Bit boozy . Sticky mouthfeel , thnx to the sweetness , yet feels a bit thin at the same time . Not bad .
