Acquired in a trade a long while ago. Bottled on 12/15/11. Enjoyed at cellar temp in a Riedel Grand Cru Bordeaux glass. Sort of a light tan with hints of brown. Minimal 2 finger head that faded almost instantly. Very bready. Hints of a rodenbach scent, brett and some bready belgian yeast strains. Some cherries and pepper. Very malty sweet taste up front. Very sweet, some very light dark fruit notes, some vanilla and spices. Lots of candied sugar and some floral sort of taste. Way too sweet. Medium body, I was expecting more.

750 ml bottle into tulip, no bottle dating. Pours hazy and cloudy golden straw color with a nice 2 finger white head with great retention that reduces to a thick cap. A mild gusher upon opening, and tons of carbonation is streaming up from the bottom of the glass. Some nice thick lacing clings to the glass as well. Aromas of big lemon, pear, apple, bread, light tart graininess, and spicy yeast. Fairly nice and balanced aromas, tons of fruitiness. Taste of big lemon zest, pepper, coriander, spice, bread, tart grains, and yeasty tang. Lingering notes of pepper, spices, bread, light fruits, and tangy yeast on the finish for a bit. Seems a little off balanced upon tasting; a bit too grainy and spicy. Needed more fruitiness in the taste. Medium-high carbonation and medium body; with a fairly creamy and smooth mouthfeel. Alcohol is well hidden with only a warming on the finish noticed. Nice drinkability but is still a sipper. Overall, a solid Belgian pale ale style. I wasn’t feeling this one too much because of the overly grainy flavor.

750ml bottle from Pick’s poured into my Chimay Trappist glass. Pours a clear amber with minimal head. Aroma of caramel, fruit and sugar. Taste is medium sweet. Taste of Belgian sugar, caramel, alcohol and fermented fruit. Medium bodied with a thick and sticky texture. Lively carbonation and a long sweet finish. Overall, pretty good. Something I would share with a friend next time though. A little too sweet for my taste.

Enjoyed on tap at the Schlafly Tap Room in St Louis, MO as part of a sampler. Appearance like whiskey straight, clear golden with white rim around the glass and light carbonation bubbles. Aroma somewhat fruity, definite alcohol presence, also a bit soft but definite light boozey.
Taste very warming from the alcohol, slightly sweet, notes of fig, apricot, also a bit of wood. Really really nice.

Bottle. Salty, light lactic, citric good yeast funk. Fresh. Sparkly mouthfee, light burpy.

22 oz bottle. Poured a golden orange color, large white head. Aroma was sweet malts, spices, yeast, caramel. Flavor was malty, caramel notes, bready, yeast. Spicy. Quite an interesting brew.

Capped 750 from InternetWines.com. Pours hazy gold with a foamy 3 finger near white head. Aroma is very fruity, mildly spicey/yeasty. Seems full bodied and the carbonation is sharp and foamy. Flavor is light malt with a lot of fruit and peppery spice. It’s sweet, but not all kandi. There’s something, maybe hop, that cuts the sweetness. Whatever, it’s not cloyingly sweet, and it has a lot of presence. There’s a touch of heat in the finish, but it ends well.

Pours deep gold into a trappist glass. Bright white head with excellent retention recedes leaving spotted sheets. Melon and candi aromas. Medium to full bodied with sweet candi upfront turning dry and hot in the lasting hay finish.

75 cl bottle, courtesy of Greg at Churchkey, shared with Markus and Enrico in Monghidoro, to facilitate research impossible. Cloudy yellow color, large white cocoa cola style head that settles quickly to leave solid lacing. Aroma of aprioct, grapefruit and bread. Very nice malt profile, slight edge of sourness. Medium body. Good character, but high carbonation interferes somewhat.
