The third installment of an 8 barrel series this Imperial Sweet Stout is pleasantly balanced with an amazing aroma. This particular barrel brings out a little more oak flavor than most of the others in this series. Dark rich notes of chocolate and caramel make this a terrific desert beer.

4 oz. pour at the brewery. Opaque, inky black with nice viscosity, ring of head and no lacing. Aroma is strong bourbon, mild spice, oak. Taste is bourbon, oak, milder toffee and hint of dark fruit. Smooth, thick texture, full bodied, soft carbonation, no sign of alcohol and finish as taste. Nice balance and strength but not as good as Woodford version.

On tap at the brewery. Pours black with small beige head. The aroma is licorice, raisin, cocoa, wood, bourbon. Slick body, raisin, licorice, vanilla, wood, bourbon, nice sweetness, enjoyed this.
