500ml bottle. Feels more like a barrel aged doppelbock. Sweet, malty and earthy with some bourbon heat, oak and brandy notes, some prunes and raisin

Bottle at Black Christmas March 2022
Dark amber colour, hazy, dull. Medium malt depth, but more fruity than most Barley Wines, moderately sweet, some alcohol smell. Not very complex, but pleasant.

Poured from a 500 ml bottle. Aroma is malt forward with lots of caramel, toffee, toasted bread and biscuit, and honey notes. Light cherry, raisin and date notes. Medium light alcohol notes and hints of oak. Pours a fairly dark brown with lighter brown hues on the edges and a medium sized, medium thick, tan head that recedes fairly quickly to the edges where it lingers in clumps before disappearing. Faint lacing and long legs. Flavor is somewhat sweet with lots of caramel, toffee, toasted bread and biscuit. Lighter notes of honey, nuts, cherries, dates and raisins. Medium bitterness and medium light alcohol notes. Hints of oak. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and medium low alcohol warmth. Overall, a solidly unique take on a barleywine. The malt profile has characteristics that I would expect from a more aged barleywine, but the Munich malt got there faster. Balanced alcohol notes and sweetness. Just enough bitterness to be noticeable and cut the sweetness a bit.

Bottle thanks to Peeter. Pours a dark amber with small beige head that lasts. The aroma is dark fruit, caramel, brown sugar, booze. Slick body, raisin, fig, caramel, brown sugar, nice sweetness, boozy, very nice.

50cl bottle pours with a deep dark mahogany colored body that supports a thin light tan ring of foam. The modest aroma offers up a thin bouquet of malts to include sweet crystal malts and a blend of rye bread and vegan enhanced cracker. The taste delivers smooth soft modestly sweet maltiness blended with a fair load of boozy bourbon barrel character. The maltiness takes on an earthy grainy to kind of rye deli cracker (if that's a thing). This is pretty nice and it has a pretty nice balance between barrel character and beer. It comes across a little shallow and seems to be missing a bit of sweet dark fruit estery depth.
