A Silent Pursuit is the first Munichwine to be bottled/released, ever. Munichwine is a new sub-style of barleywine that I have created quietly at Private Press throughout the pandemic. The genesis of this new beer style is rooted in my admiration for both barleywine and Munich malt. A Silent Pursuit was Aged in both bourbon and California grape brandy barrels, and reminds me of spirit-soaked bread pudding, topped with toasted nuts, flambéed bananas, and covered in a date caramel sauce.

Bottle shared at CBJ, thanks to Dave, 27/11/24. Black pour topped with a khaki head. Nose is chocolate, dried fruit esters, toffee, mellow barrel strokes. Taste comprises stewed fruits, toffee, bourbon, molasses, fruit cake mix, dates, prunes, brown sugar melt. Full bodied, fine carbonation, drying close with a lick of alcohol. Solid life.

Bottle thanks to Wingman. Near clear brown beer, small bubbly pale tan head, short lived. Smooth light palate, mildly dry, decent fine carbonation. Sweet dark chocolate, good sweet bourbon soaked fruits. Tidy, basic in it's flavour profile but utterly solid.

Bottle thanks to Rainer. Pours black with small beige head that lasts. The aroma is licorice, molasses, raisin, wood, bourbon. Slick body, licorice, molasses, toffee, wood, hides alcohol nicely, enjoyed this.
