A calculated blend of a high gravity version of our FOBAB Best of Show-winning Arcane Rituals Barleywine aged in Elijah Craig and Heaven Hill Double Oak barrels layered with casks of Darkstar November and double mashed Darkstar November aged in Old Fitzgerald and Rittenhouse Rye barrels at the perfect ratio to pull you through time, space, and all the lessons our production and blending teams have learned on this plane of existence.

Dark Rituals pours black with glints of amber while sweet aromas of toffee and raisin flicker through the senses. Flavors of fig and heavy caramel teleport through the familiar rye-riddled stout base of Darkstar November, fortifying the palate for the oaked finish and spike of bourbon on the 13.13% exhale.

500ml (thx, Brian S.!) @ Sales Force. Appearance: very dark brown with a beige head. Aroma: roasty, stout and barleywine like, barrel, dark sugars. Taste: along the same lines, very sweet, more on the barleywine side, but stout is easy to find here as well. Overall: good one.

Poured from 500mL bottle (2021 vintage). Dark brown with minimal beige head. Roast malt and toffee malt with boozy bourbon and mild dark fruits. Enjoyable.

Dark brown, no head. It's got a bit of roasty stout, and definitely some barrel. The barley wine shows on its own - some caramel/toffee sort of malts, deep fruitiness, and a pretty big splash of alcohol in the finish. This seems like the two beers are on their own here; it doesn't present as cohesive. But each of the components are pretty good.

Medium body, oily, sweet, boozy. Caramel, dark chocolate, raisin, barrel, smooth, finishes dryish. Good stuff, very nice.

Bottle thanks to AJ. Pours black with small tan head that lasts. The aroma is cocoa, roast, dark fruit, wood, bourbon. Slick body, toffee, raisin, wood, licorice, bourbon, nice sweetness, enjoyed this.

Bottle (2021) pour from Valley Beverage, Sherman Oaks. It's an opaque dark brown--virtually black--with light sparkle, thin cap of khaki head with poor retention, nice viscosity and no lacing. Aroma is strong mix of bourbon, oak, toffee, dark fruit, figs, vanilla. Taste is bourbon, whiskey, oak, rye, toffee, dark fruit, figs and late chocolate. Mouthfeel is full bodied with thick, smooth texture, soft carbonation, no sign of alcohol, and finish as taste. Overall, this is a real delight! Some will find it a little too sweet but great strength and complexity of aroma and flavors and well balanced with hidden alcohol. No small feat--barrel-aged beer at its finest!
