A Classic Jersey-ism is “regular coffee.” Here when you order a “regular coffee” at any place you trust to make a pork roll and cheese you get a paper cup of coffee with “milk and 2 sugars” rather than a “black coffee that hasn’t had the caffeine removed.” We added a coffee blend from our neighbors at Fair Mountain Coffee Roasters to a high gravity golden cream ale, contributing our “milk and 2 sugars” for an elevated version of classic plain coffee. Drink Regular Coffee because running over a black beer with coffee is no way to get things done.

Got in a BIF from MacMalt. 12 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 12/29/2017. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy deep golden amber color with a 1 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin lace cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big nutty medium roast coffee, honey, vanilla, cream, cracker, corn, white bread dough, and biscuit; with light notes of lemon, orange, dark fruit, milk chocolate, cocoa, pepper, and herbal/grassy/roasted earthiness. Touch of booze in the aromas as it warms, but not overwhelming. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of coffee, lactose, vanilla, pale malt/grain, and light earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big nutty medium roast coffee, honey, vanilla, cream, cracker, corn, white bread dough, and biscuit; with light notes of lemon, orange, dark fruit, milk chocolate, cocoa, pepper, and herbal/grassy/roasted earthiness. Light herbal/grassy/spicy hop and roasted coffee bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of nutty coffee, honey, vanilla, cream, cracker, corn, white bread dough, biscuit, light citrus/cocoa, pepper, and herbal/grassy/roasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of coffee, lactose, vanilla, pale malt/grain, and light earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering hop/roast bitterness. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very creamy/silky/bready, and lightly slick/sticky/chalky balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Lightly increasing warmth of 12%, with mild booziness lingering after the finish. Overall this is an excellent imperial flavored cream ale. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of coffee, lactose, vanilla, pale malt/grain, and light earthy hop flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to sip on for the big ABV. Really unique, never had anything quite like it; though I have had plenty of coffee blondes. This just turns it up to 11. Great balanced complexity of fruity/nutty coffee, lactose, vanilla, and pale malt/grains. Not overly sweet for the ABV, solid hop balance. A very enjoyable offering.

On tap at Hunah Day. Pours a hazy yellow gold with medium off white head that lasts. The aroma is strong roast coffee, burnt sugar, toffee. Thin body, similar flavors to nose, very sweet, good.

12 oz. can thanks to AdamChandler. Light brown color. Aroma is a metric butt ton of coffee with just a hint of creamer.

The flavor is mostly coffee, with huge amounts of lactose sugar. This is diabetes in a can. The texture is creamy but damn, it is cloying. You can easily spilt a can 5 ways. WAY sweet.

From a can, pale yellow. Smells like acidic old cold brew with sugar. pretty unique. Nice mouthfeel, thin but hearty with flavors of coffee followed by sugar, cream, light bitterness with brown sugar. Mouthfeel is thin. It’s bursting with flavor but I do not get the 12% ABV. it’s intense and really really nice. not sure I’ do an entire can.

12 ounce can. Pours a mostly clear copper orange color with a small white head. A light nose mostly of coffee and sweet malts. The flavor is big sugary coffee, a massive sweet malty base, the coffee is sugary milky and just sweet overall. Like the other version of this I had, the base is just too sweet and not flavorful enough to deal with the coffee. It’s OK, but very sweet and a lot to drink.

Can, thanks to Toastedpuppy. Clear dark orange with off-white foamy large head, malt and faint coffee beans aroma, medium carbonation, slightly sweet creamy taste, with coffee flavor and alcohol undertones, creamy body, medium malty finish. Coffee flavor was not too pronounced, strong alcohol content was not masked too well.
