Handpull cask at the Salmon, Leicester. Hold on, I'm sure I had this at Ye Olde Trip during the Nottingham crawl last July. Hmmm, anyway I'm rating it now. Dark cola coloured with an uneven beige head. Cherry cola aroma, or maybe the sort of artificial cherry you get from cheap candy. Tastes okay, some sweet malt notes combine with with the cherry, turning bitter in the unbalanced finish. So not perfect but good enough.

Cask pour at Bar Fringe in Manchester. Dark cherry colour with a thin head. Not the greatest fusion of cherry and dark malts, both are evident. Gave it a second outing in my home town and didn't change my mind much, there's an underlying sweetness to the fruit but perhaps not the most appealing of special brews.

GBBF Day 2. Cask. Almost clear deep amber red beer, small pale tan head. Smooth palate, fairly dry, decent fine carbonation. A very mild dark malt base. Bold maraschino cherry, much stronger than the piddly malt base. Light and semi finish. Good cherry affair but quite one note in its delivery.

Cask at Ye Olde Trip, Nottingham, 07/07/23. Deep chestnut brown with a reddish tinge and topped with a good sized lasting beige head. Nose is dark malts, cherries, light roast, toffee. Taste comprises chocolate dipped cherries, mellow roast, toffee, dried fruit rinds. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close. Okay if a touch on the sweet side.

Pours deep, dark brown, with a reddish tinge, and a creamy, frothy beige head. Sweet cherry with a sour edge on the nose, it’s sweet up front, with roasted malt lurking underneath, before cherry sourness and a touch of dry bitterness finish things off, all delivered on a semi-creamy medium bodied mouthfeel
