Fortress Lake Black Forest Sour is a dark sour, brewed with cocoa nibs from XOCO, Vanilla Rooibos tea from Lucas Teas and copious amounts of cherry purée. Noticeable richness and chocolate notes with a winter appropriate tartness and ABV.

Cloudy brownish ruby body and modest foam. Good dark biscuit and watery cherry on the nose, but falling short of a convincing black forest. Taste is plenty of vanilla, biscuit, and unnamed fruitiness, finishing tart. I'm a bit conflicted, as this is drinkable and hits a few black forest elements but is nowhere near convincing.
