West coast IPA — collaboration with The Gull Liquor Store
We've had this West Coast IPA collab in the works for a while with our dearest of pals over at The Gull and we are stoked to announce that you can now find it on tap at both spots!
There's a whole lotta love between our two crews and what better way to celebrate this mutual admiration than in the form of a funky take on an old school West Coast classic. Everyone knows West is best.
Brewed with 2-row, Munich and Crystal malt, fermented with 100% Brettanomyces, then hopped with Simcoe and Cascade. This copper beauty is danker than dank, complimented by citrus undertones, notes of grapefruit, pine and herbs..

Clear copper gold with a decent white head. Perfumy crystal malts. Malts up front, touch of light generic woody hops. Meh.

Poured from the tap. Clear copper gold with small white head. Dry citrus and pine with a touch of funk. Decent.

On tap at House of Funk, pours a clear copper golden with a small beige head. Nose is dry, with bittering hops, light funk and plenty of minerality. Flavour is much the same, with crisp, bittering hops, a touch of pine, light brett funk, and minerality. Crisp, lightly buggy, and mineraly. Unusual touch for a west coast IPA—I don't think it works overly well, but it's competent and pleasant enough.

Okay clear medium gold body and some modest foam. Aroma is nice dank hops, some caramelly malt. Taste is good dankness, peach and orange zest. Ends bone dry and could use a little more sweetness. It's doing many things very well.
