Tänä vuonna (2013) julkaisemme kolmen erikoishanaoluen sarjan valituissa olutravintoloissa. Ravintolat ovat tehneet kanssamme pitkään tiivistä yhteistyötä. Erikoisoluita valmistetaan rajallinen erä näitä valittuja olutravintoloita varten. Sarjan ensimmäinen olut PROTO#1 on 5,3% pale ale -tyyppinen olut. Tankkiin on lisätty kahta eri humalalajiketta (Cascade ja Centennial) antamaan tuotteelle erityistä luonnetta.

Amber-golden color, good beige head. Fruity, slightly resiny hoppy aroma. Medium-bodied. Pale malty, slightly fruity backbone. Finish has good resiny-bready bitterness and some grapefruit. I prefer citrus over resin but wellbrewed APA from Malmgård.

Draught@Viisi Penniä, Helsinki. Slightly hazy aber colour with a small white head. Aroma is fruity, toffeeish, flora and mild biscuity notes. Flavour is fruity, floral, mild catpissy notes as well as some resiny and caramelly notes. Pleasantly balanced and very refreshing.

Draught at Pikkulintu, Helsinki. Colour is clear orange with small thick white head. Aromas and flavours: Fruits, citrus, dryness, hops and malts. Very nice.

Aroma is fruity with hops, resinand hints of caramel. Flavour has hops and some caramel. Finishes stuffy with gooseberry bush and biscuits. Needs a stronger body.

Pours dark clear orange with a small head. Aroma of fruity and grassy hops, caramely malts and resin. Taste of fresh grassy hops, loads of resinous bitterness, pine, hints of sweetness and maltiness. Finish of fresh grassy hops, resin, dry bitterness, some sweet malts and caramel. Nice, quite hoppy and fresh pale ale. Could use a bit more fruitness, but this is still very tasty, at least for hopheads like myself.

(Draught at Black Door, 20130320) The beer poured amber and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had fruitiness, pine, sweetness and malts. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, pine, grass, sweetness, malts and bitterness. Afteraste was hoppy, sweet and bitter. A nice tasty pale ale. Hoppier than the usual Malmgård products are but balanced and good.
