Cask at the Hare and Billet, Blackheath. Dark brown pour with an off-white head. Raisin and chocolate malt aroma. Flavours of dark fruits, coffee, raisin and toffee. Doesn’t have that classic porter taste for me but is still quite a pleasant brew. Good.

Cask@Southampton Arms (said "Winter Dark Ale" in small print beneath the Porter). Deep amber colour, small off-white head. Aroma is fruits, roasted malts, some ashes as well as mild floral hoppyness. Flavour is rather similar in a nice balance. Old school porter meets some rather hoppy stuff.

(Cask at Craft Beer Co, Clerkenwell, London, 24 Nov 2011) Black colour with foamy, beige head. Roasted, malty nose with notes of freshly ground coffee, toasty malt and crisp-bread. Roasted, malty taste with crisp-bread, coffee, dark fruit, roasted malt and a generous coffee bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with just a touch of sweetness. Nice and tasty porter.

Cask-conditioned at the Cask & Kitchen, Pimlico 7/05/2011. Deep, reddish brown with a slight, off-white head. Aroma of coffee, berry fruits and a touch of chocolate. Sweetish, fruity flavour with more chocolate and a slightly earthy edge, leading to a dryish finish. Enjoyable.
