Bouteille (merci beaucoups, Stephane!): Reddish-amber coloured, almust clear, small and stable tanned head, moderate sweetish roasty-nutty nose, solid aromas of freshly ground coffee; solid bitter-sweet flavour, medium to full bodied, creamy MF; lingering walnutty and toasty nose with a fine balancing bitterness and a warming alcohol burn. Chapeau, quelle surprise! Jusqu’ aujourd’hui la biere francaise plus belle...

Bottle, 75cl. A clear-looking brown beer topped by a small, dense, light beige head. The aroma has something chili-like, but is mostly caramel and dried fruits. Some grassy hints chime in. There’s something chili-like in the flavor too, adding a little burn in the throat. Quite bitter in the finish, where there’s also a pleasant licorice touch, with roasted malts, caramel and dried fruits initially. A sort of weird one, at least unusual, but it’s both tasteful and pleasant. 121109

Bottle at La Fine Mousse, Paris
Dark mahogany color with compact head, medium sized. Mild but nice aroma of malt, roasted malt, cheesy yeast, very light liquorice. Sweetish flavor, good combination of malt an caramel, with some liquorice and light roasted malt; the final has a very light astringency.
Good, will improve with a short aging.
