Bottled. Pitch black colour, huge brown head. Leaves a lot of lace. Strong salted licorace, berries and spices in the aroma. Flavour is licorace, spices, malts and some slight hops. Also some hints of coffee. Aftertaste is caramel, licorace and caramel.

Thanks Papsoe! A pitch black color with decent tan head. Strong aroma of licorice and berries in the nose. Burned malty flavor with notes of licorice. Medium-bodied - full enough. Aroma was promising, flavor is a bit one-dimensional.

Bottled. A pitch black beer with a nice bubbly but lasting brown head. The aroma is sweet chocolaty, and a bit of fruity oranges, but also with a dusty hop note. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of chocolate, of the dark bitter sort, but also hard roasted malt notes as well as some expresso roast coffee, and ground cocoa beans. The mouthfeel is fizzy due to high carbonation, but at the same time smooth - a weird combination. The alcohol is felt slightly on the tongue towards the end, which is dry and bitter from the roasted malt.

Bottle. Creamy lightbrown mostly deminishing head. Powerfull coffeearoma. licorice like flavor. A little more like porter than stout. Average finish. A little watery palate, but ok beer.

(Bottle 50 cl) Pours black and completely opaque with a pretty, light brown head. Aroma of roasted malt and perhaps a wee whiff of anise from the fennel. Medium body with plenty of roasted malt and some lightly burned, coffeeish notes. Almost no bitterness. A very pleasant light stout. 030306
