Keg at MK BG, 21/03/19. Black to purple with a reddish/crimson covering. Nose is bitter sweet berries, dark malts, spice, light roast, aniseed. Taste comprises blackcurrant liquorice, spice, charr, tangy red berries, dark fruits. Full bodied, viscous feel, warming alcohol at the curtain close. Interesting tangy impy ... not sure I'd want a whole load though !

On keg at the Hanging Bat. Appearance - black and fairly opaque. Creamy off white head. Nose - blackcurrant and leaf. Chocolate and nuts. Taste - black fruit and chocolate. Palate - creamy and medium bodied. Elegant finish. Overall - very nice.

Tap at 100 piv. Really weird. Combining stout with sourness is probably a weird idea even without the stout being imperial and sourness being blackcurrant-derived, but here we are. Weird combo. I do not like it to be honest, but that is not to say that you won't. Most of the dark goodness is hidden beneath the aggressive sourness, and tartness, as is most of the actual currant flavour, perceivable mostly for a short while in the beginning. Not my niche. 2,8 Rerate tap at Unorthodox. While the review itself remains more or less intact, I adjusted points. Not as bad. Also a bit more cirrant this time around. Okay. Not great, not terrible.

Keg at the hanging bat. Pours black, nose is liquorice, chocolate, caramel, berries, taste is zesty berries, juicy, tart, liquorice, roasted.

Tap at 100 pív Pours black with beige head. Black currant really dominating everything. Sourish with sweet finish. Interesting.

Taste is dry sour-ish boozy, weeds, sour grass, fruit stones, sour berries, bark, ashtray, bloodlike minerals, berry skin, harsh hops, soil, medicine, unripe black currants. Medium to longlasting bitterness, harsh sour-ish mineraly mouthfeel. Meh!
